King Of The Celts has slipped to a dangerous mark and looks worth bet at 9/1 in the 5.45 at Catterick today having shaped nicely last time out.
Tim Easterby’s veteran is on a long losing run having not scored since landing a class 5 contest at Beverley back in May 2016 off a mark of 67.
However, he did run well on a couple of occasions last season to make the frame – finishing second over course and distance off 63 and runner-up at Beverly off 64.
King Of The Celts is now able to race in this class 6 off just 59 having been dropped another 3lb since finishing an eye-cathing fourth over course and distance sevne days ago when racing too keenly in the hands of an amateur rider before keeping on to be beaten 1 3/4 lengths.
That was his second start following a 306 day break and he should now be spot on to do himself justice.
The more experienced apprentice Robert Dodswoth, who take off a handy 3lb with his claim, also now takes over in the saddle and King Of The Celts is a course and distance winner looks weighted to run a huge race if building on his lastest effort.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way King Of The Celts (9/1 bet365, BetVictor – BOG)
