Excellent Guest has slipped to a dangerous mark and looks worth a wager at 16/1 in the 7.00 at Windsor this evening now dropped in grade.

George Margarson’s eight-year-old has some decent form to his name in hot handicaps earlier in his career, including when winning the 2013 running of the class 2 Victoria Cup at Ascot off 93.

He also showed that he retained plenty of ability when winning a classified contest at Ascot last October off an official rating of 87 and is now able to race off just 82.

That is his lowest rating in nearly five years, and he also now drops down into class 4 company for the first time since September 2010.

It gives Excellent Guest a big chance at the weights on the pick of his form, and at the odds on offer he looks overpriced if putting his best foot forward.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Excellent Guest (16/1 Boylesports)
