Apostle is back to his his last winning mark and makes plenty of appeal at 10/1 in the 3.50 at Chester today.

David Simcock’s charge was last successful in this contest 12 months ago when running on strongly to beat Mishaal by 1 1/4 lengths off a mark of 88.

He backed that up with a solid fourth over course and distance off 93, and was then far from disgarced over 7f at the venue when a 5 1/4 length third to Athletic off the same rating.

Apostle now meets Athletic on 15lb better terms, and having failed to trouble the judge in four starts this season is now back down to 88.

That gives him major claims from a handicapping perspective, especially noe rteurnd to a track which he runs well.

Apostle also didn’t shape too badly last time out when a 4 length seventh of 12 to Zarawaan at Newcastle, and if building on that looks weighted to run huge.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Apostle (10/1 bet365, BetVictor, William Hill – BOG)
