Bertie Blu Boy is back down to his last winning mark and makes plenty of appeal at 6/1 in the 2.50 at Lingfield today.

Lisa Williamson’s gelding is a four-time course and distance winner with the last of those sucesses coming back in Agust where he made all and held on tenaciously to beat Lewamy by a short-head off a mark of 59.

He then wasn’t disgraced when fifth of 11 to Zed Cadny Girl at Wolverhampton off 62, and although he has not been at his best in four subsequent starts the handicapper has been quick to drop his a few pounds as a result.

The six-year-old is now back down to 59, the same as when last successful, and shaped as if coming back to form last time out at Wolverhampton over 6f when unable to dominate but showing plenty of pace to track the leader until weakening inside the last to be beaten 5 3/4 lengths.

The step back up to 7f this afternoon looks sure to suit, and from a good draw in stall 1 he is drawn to attack from the off in the hands of Adam Kirby.

There is every chnbace that he could get his own way up front in this line-up, and is he does he could take some pegging back now that he is back down to a workable mark.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Bertie Blu Boy (6/1 BetVictor, Coral, William Hill – BOG)
