Western Miller looks on a handy mark and at 6/1 rates the standout bet on today’s card at Ludlow (3.00).
Charlie Longsdon’s charge ran well to finish runner-up in two bumpers, including when beaten 2 3/4 lengtsh by the now 145-rated Wholestone at Worcester.
He went on to open his account over hurdles at the first time of asking when only having to be driven out to score by 6 lengths at Carlisle back in October 2015.
The six-year-old has been loughtly raced since and had just six starts, running well to finish a neck second to Zanstra at Newton Abbot last March off a mark of 114.
He is now able to race off the same rating and is reunited with Richard Johnson who partnered him to success on hurdles debut.
It makes Western Miller look nice treated, esepcially on his bumper run behind Wholsestone, in what doesn’t look the strongest of class 4 contests.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Wstern Miller (6/1 bet365, Betfred, William Hill – BOG)
