Whatsthemessage worth a wager to cash-in on class drop

Whatsthemessage has shaped as if returning to form and looks worth a wager at 4/1 in the 4.05 at Ayr today now eased in grade.

Keith Dalgleish’s charge enjoyed a prolific time last season when winning five times.

The last of those successes came at Musselburgh off a rating of 85 and Whatsthemessage went on to round off the campaign with a fair fourth of 91 on unsuitable soft ground.

He is now able to race off 86, just 1lb higher than when last victorious and that gives him major claims at the weights.

There was also lots to like about his run three starts back here over course and distance when a staying on never nearer 2 lenbgth fifth of 11 to First Flight in a class 2 and he also ran well last time out when third to Vemtura Knight – who has won again since – in a similar grade affair.

Whatsthemessage now drops markedly in grade into class 4 company in which he has a 57% strike rate having won four of his seven starts in it. So he looks to have plenty going for him in this.
