Winningtry looks on a handy mark on handicap debut in the 3.15 at Ayr today and gets the max bet treatment at 100/30.
Paul Nicholls’ six-year-old won his sole start in a bumper before shaping with plemty of promise on hurdling debut when third to Geordie Des Champs at Aintree.
Winningtry kept on nicely be beaten just 3 lengths and the winner has gone on to finish third in an ultra-competitive handicap at Aintree off a mark of 135.
The selection then faield to live up to expectatiosn in his next two starts before only having to be driven out to land a 2m 4 maiden hurdle at Wincaton last month by 1 1/2 lenbgths from Bellamy.
He has been alotted an opening handicap markr of 121 on the back of that success and that looks lenient, especially judged on his run behind Geordie Des Champs.
Winningtry also looks the type that could have more to offer now going down the handicap route and stepped up to 3m, and other pluses are that he is is 2/3 under jockey Sam Twiston-Davies and hails from a yard which has an overall strike rate of just under 20 per cent at the venue.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 10pts win Winningtry (100/30 BetVictor, Ladbrokes – BOG)
