Lupo D’Oro cracking each-way value at 13/2
Lupo D’Oro looks an each-way steal at 13/2 in the 7.00 at Warwick tonight.
John Best’s colt shaped with bags of promise on his first two starts, finishing fifth to Effervescent on his debut at Haydock and then finishing a slightly unlucky third to Mitie Mouse at kempton.
He found himself short of room at the furlong marker that day and had to be switched left to eventually get a run and keep on to be beaten just 1 1/2 lengths.
He meets the winner on 4lbs better terms tonight and there is little doubt in my mind that will be more than enough for him to reverse the placing.
Connections flew to high with him on his third outing when he was outclassed behind Frerick Engles in the Windsor Castle at Royal ascot, but he showed on his latest start that his time was near when coming runner-up splitting two subsequent winners in a decent little contest at Haydock.
He was beaten just a length by the progressive Roger Sex, and Tim easterby’s charge went on to complete the hat-trick before finishing a highly creditble 9th of 20 to Bogart in a valuable sales race at York last week
The third home Sea Oddysey has also gone on two regsiter two easy victories and the form looks rock solid.
The handicapper has been slightly harsh in raising the selctio0n 8lbs to a mark of 74 for his gallant 1 length defeat at Haydock, but the form sets a decent standard in this contest and he does seem to have plenty of improvement left in the locker.
Another plus is that he has form with cut in the ground if the forecast rains arrive at the Midland’s track, and he has enough pace to overcome a wide draw in 11.
The race looks sure to be run at a blistering pace with plenty of confirmed trailblazers in the line-up, and if he can get a good early pitch I can see him proving too strong at the finish.
Recommended bet: 2pts each-way Lupo D’Oro (13/2 Boylesports, Victor Chandler, Paddy Power – BOG)
