Wednesday evening [April 15] saw the LAUNCH event for boxing photographer and journalist Philip Sharkey’s book PASSPORT PHOTO SERVICE at Traveller’s Tales in Marylebone and what an evening it turned out to be with a MASSIVE turn out from both the world of sport and celebrities including former WBA super-middleweight CHAMP Georges Groves and even had a sign written LONDON CAB to advertise the book.

Passport Photo Service: An Unexpected Archive of Celebrity Portraits, a captivating glimpse into celebrity culture and photographic history. Philip Sharkey is a photographer living in London. He began working at his family’s business, Passport Photo Service, when he was sixteen, until it closed in 2019 after sixty-six years. Sharkey is a member of the Boxing Writers Club and a recipient of the prestigious Reg Gutteridge Award for services to boxing media.
