BKB reaches the milestone of its 50th show next weekend

BKB 50 goes ahead on Saturday, January 31 in Miami – where it all began with Dada 5000’s backyard fights.

They were seen by millions online and on Netflix and that grew into Back Yard Boxing, while over in the UK, bareknuckle boxing was being revived in the Midlands.

Back Yard Boxing and BKB started working together in 2021 and the Police Gazette International Cup featured Team USA and Team Europe going toe to toe in the sport’s equivalent of the Ryder Cup.

In May, 2024, BYB acquired BKB and the sport has gone from strength to strength.

The shows have been bigger, better – and watched by more people.

BKB 49 was the first Bally’s Fight Night including groundbreaking technology that takes fans around the globe inside the trigon with the fighters – and BKB 50 is sure to be a night to remember.

There will be FOUR world-title fights at the James L Knight Centre and history will be made when the first super-featherweight champion will be crowned.

It will be either Alberto Blas – the Cuban KO machine who’s a real crowd favourite in Miami – or Harold McQueen.

Harold is looking to put his name in the history books as a two-weight world champion.

We return to London for BKB 51 and the O2 Arena on February 21 with a bill topped by Marko Martinjak-Isaac Villanueva and featuring the Scott McHugh-Martin Reffell rematch.

We also added a real fans’ favourite to the show in the shape of Dominic Negus.

Dom is a real larger-than-life character who just loves to fight.

We haven’t seen him in the trigon for a while and I know there are going to be a lot of people cheering him on when he fights Mark O’Neil.

Dom has fought just about everywhere imaginable in his colourful life and this will be his first time in the trigon!

Dom is a former favourite returning to action and this week we have welcomed a couple of new faces, Greg Bono and Ryan Venable.

We wish them every success in their future with BKB.

Until next week

Joe Smith-Brown

(Co founder, BKB)
