Welcome to BKB, Victor Ortiz.
Victor was a world champion as a gloved boxer and has a fan base way beyond combat sports.
He’s also known for appearing on Dancing WithThe Stars and acting in The Expendables and Hawaii Five-O.
‘Vicious’ Victor still loves fighting and we are so glad he has joined us on a multi-fight, multi-year deal.
He had 25 knockouts in his 33 gloved wins and if you want to know what to expect from Victor in the trigon, you can check out his fights on YouTube.
My favourite is his battle with Marcos Maidana from 2009. What a fight !
Victor went on to beat Andre Berto to become world champion and had that controversial loss to Floyd Mayweather jr.
Victor also fought world champions Devon Alexander and Robert Guerrero and sparred Manny Pacquiao.
This is an elite-level fighter who has joined us.
Victor becomes the third former world gloved champion to sign with BKB this year after Lee Selby and Yuriorkis Gamboa.
Then there’s Paulie Malignaggi.
Paulie has brought eyes from around the world to the trigon and there’s huge interest in his world-title fight against Rolando Dy in Manchester on May 16.
That promises to be another huge night of BKB action and this week we added Daniel Lerwell to that card.
We are all looking forward to seeing the Welsh KO king back in action.
Next for us is BKB 52 in Connecticut on March 28.
Topping at the Foxwoods Resort Casino is a real legend of the trigon, Nicholas ‘Cub’ Hawkins.
Last time out he took the world light-heavyweight title from Barrie Jones and sent the Welsh legend into retirement.
He makes his first defence against Jesse Ronson, who wants to take the belt back to Canada.
That is followed by BKB 53 in New York on April 17 when pound-for-pound Lorawnt T ‘Smash’ Nelson faces Brit outsider Mark Tiffin.
It’s always a great night when ‘Smash’ is in action.
He had a great 2025 as he mopped up the two blemishes on his BKB record with wins over James Connelly and Samuel Liera, but Mark is a proud Yorkshireman who doesn’t care about reputations.
This weekend out heavyweight champion fights.
Gustavo Trujillo – ‘The Cuban Assassin’ – will be wearing gloves when he fights in Florida on Saturday night.
As well as being our heavyweight king, he is also an unbeaten gloved pro who’s world ranked by the WBO.
