with the Stone Roses set to reunite bookies Stan James have opened betting on what song the Manchester band will open with and finish with when they hit the stage again at Heaton Park next year.
The firm make the iconic track “I Wanna Be Adored” the hot favourite at 1/2 to be the opening song, and for the finale they make “I Am The Resurrection” the market leader at 6/4.
“This will be the big gig of 2012.” said Stan James spokesman Craig Finch. “The Stone Roses had a huge following and the interest will be intense. As reunions go it doesn’t get much bigger than this.”
The band will play two concerts at Heaton Park in Manchester on June 29th and 30th next year.
Other contenders for the opening song include “Sally Cinnamon”, the second single to be released by the band in 1987 and “She Bangs The Drum” which was the band’s first Top 40 hit in 1989. Both are 5/1 shots.
DAILY SPORT says – lump on “I am The Resurrection” to be the closing song. It surely won’t be anything else and 6/4 looks a “rock” solid bet!
