This week saw the film premiere and UK release of Dead Ringer the movie, marking my second acting role and it’s safe to say that I earned my two-day hangover in style!
Walking the red carpet with a host of actors, actresses, singers, models and reality TV stars, 300 guests took to Leicester Square, London, to crunch popcorn as the lights went down and toast a glass of champagne to the dream that became a reality when filming first began just a year ago.
From script to screen the entire process, laughs, lessons and memories along the way I shall undoubtedly cherish forever, and it was fantastic to see everybody coming together once again to celebrate a year of hard work and effervescent expectations.
Last week I promised to dish the gossip of the behind the scenes from the premiere in this weeks column but unfortunately, or fortunately, nothing scandalous happened – there were no fights, tears or tantrums but instead stunning dresses, super high heels, dapper three-piece suits and plenty of paparazzi! Exactly what you’d expect of such a glitzy event.
I took a group of friends as my special guests, whom I’ve known since my teens, and we had the most hilariously fun, uplifting and let-loose night drinking into the early hours with so many talented stars, directors and film producers from the industry.
How strange it is to think that even several years ago my life was so incredibly different and events like this were only in my dreams. But it goes to show that you can do anything that you set your mind to, achieve every goal you can possibly imagine and seize each and every opportunity that comes your way to make your tomorrow more bright and beautiful.
Whilst the rest of the country celebrated the weekend, crawled out of nightclubs in the early hours and ate kebabs in an Uber ride home I comically did the same – minus the kebabs though and narrowly avoiding kicking off my heels. But like the script of Dead Ringer, a modern day tale of the Prince And The Pauper, it reminded me of how thankful I am for my life, friends and family today as we all should be.
The British Independent Film Industry is something we should celebrate and support. Dead Ringer is available for digital download and on DVD from all major retailers, online platforms and distributors. I’m absolutely honoured to be a part of such an iconic movie and am incredibly excited to see what this leads onto for all who are involved. There is so much talent, so many big names and such skill involved that will continue to grow, flourish and evolve and I’m incredibly excited to hear about their next project.
We all have the ability to take control of our lives, find focus, determination and passion in order to make our wildest dreams a reality. You don’t have to leave all of the fame, fortune and fun to the movies – if you want something badly enough then work hard for it and never lose sight of your goals until you reach them!
