Summer is coming

2014

I woke up so excited today because I can just feel June in the air – summer is coming and I’m literally bursting with enthusiasm for its good vibes. I love how positive summer makes me feel, from long balmy evenings to boozy barbecues, holiday shopping and sun-kissed skin.

Summer is the time of the year to kick back, relax and have fun with friends and family, and I find it’s also a great time to reconnect with nature and be a little more free-spirited after a winter of overindulgence and being trapped indoors.

As our skin bronzes our eyes shine brighter, we look healthier, our hair lightens and we can ditch heavy makeup in favour of a beautifully natural glow, which is where I step up my skincare routine to keep me looking and feeling my best.

Having crept into my thirties last year I now have Botox and fillers as a regular beauty staple to keep my complexion clear and my skin wrinkle free. Laughter lines, crows feet, frown lines and bags under the eyes can all have a draining and ageing effect on our appearance, both men and women alike, and so I find that if I wake up in the morning with a youthful face smiling back at me in the mirror then I’m more likely to feel like an energetic and enthusiastic teenager inside and out.

A positive mindset, passion for life and making peace with our appearance all total together to bring out the best in our attitude and enthusiasm towards others. This is why I want to share my beauty tips with you all, not to tell you what you should or shouldn’t do to feel comfortable in your own skin, but to be open and honest about what works best for me and how I stay so upbeat all year; how we look has a direct correlation with how we feel.

With clinics in London, Essex, Germany and Cyprus, Vie Aesthetics www.vie-aesthetics.co.uk are experts in skincare and I’m incredibly proud that Dr Ioannis Liakas has been shortlisted at the Diamond Awards for Aesthetics Doctor Of The Year 2019. His work is phenomenal and he is a true professional and perfectionist, keeping me looking young and fresh after the most tiring of days as a busy working mum of two.

I pop into Vie Aesthetics every 3-4months for a top up of Botox to my forehead and around the eyes and a little filler to my lips, cheekbones and jawline when necessary and get so many compliments on how young and bright I always look. In this day and age it can be easy to over-do treatments and to over enhance our features which can make the face appear fake or frozen – which for some may be the desired look, but for me I prefer subtle and more natural tweaks to make the best of what Mother Nature has given me.

Rather than looking like somebody else entirely, I simply like to stop the clock on ageing and hold onto the freshness of my twenties as I creep into my thirties. However you choose to do that, through aesthetics, an uplifting attitude or a combination of the two I wish you all happiness, good health and inner peace!
