Little Mix are odds-on favourites at a top priced 4/11 to win X Factor as they head into tonight’s final showdown against Marcus Collins.
Amelia Lily was given the boot tonight after polling the fewest votes, and bookies believe the wave of support sweeping the nation for the young girl group will see them triump over scouser Marcus (5/2).
“Little Mix now have the best chance ever of banishing the curse of the bands as they are now odds on atb 4/11 to win the show,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.
Meanwhile, yet mote controversy surrounding the show erupted last night after Little Mix fans complained that they were being denied the chance to vote for their favourite act.
Thousands claimed they had been put at a massive disadvantage after 35p-a-time text message votes were scrapped for the final.
Many teenagers couldn’t vote because they didn’t have a landline or couldn’t afford expensive mobile rates, which were as high as £1 per call – nearly three times the usual cost.
Last night fans flocked on to Twitter to complain that the girl band’s chances of winning had been ruined.
X Factor bosses cancelled text voting because of a shorter cut-off period for votes in the finals.
The decision was made to avoid thousands of wasted messages if mobile networks’ services became delayed.
