Whenever I am in the Bedfordshire vicinity, usually to pay a visit to Vanilla Alternative or Jaydees, I like to stop by the Happy Shoppers A1 sex shop. I popped in the other day for a chat with owner Rex and we discussing the way that habits have changed in relation to buying sex toys and acutrimonts. Rex comes from a veritable dynasty of purveyors of sex equipment with his dad having been in the industry before him and boy does he tell some fun stories from the old days but you’ll have to pop in yourself to hear those. Anyway, we got to talking a out how the trends have changed, from sex shops being seen as seedy and their clients hiding their identity when going in to how it is how completely acceptable and an everyday occurrence to shop for dildos or paddles. Sex shop establishments have unfortunately become less popular the more that buying sex toys have become commonplace as now people go to the big brands such as Ann Summers or buy online. With the new age verification laws coming into fruition will this stop people wanting to use certain sites as they dont want to have their details held on national databases. Hopefully it will cause a resurgence of visitors to independent porn premises and sex shops.
