2026 ELTEN SAFETY SHOES EUROPEAN DARTS TROPHY DRAW & SCHEDULE

Luke Humphries will begin his Elten Safety Shoes European Darts Trophy campaign against William O’Connor or Mensur Suljovic on Saturday, with the draw and schedule of play confirmed for this weekend’s event.

The second PDC European Tour event of 2026 will take place at the Lokhalle in Goettingen from March 13-15, as a 48-player field battle it out for the £35,000 top prize.
Friday’s opening round will feature 16 matches across two sessions, as German duo Niko Springer and Kai Gotthardt go head-to-head on home soil, in a repeat of their clash at last weekend’s UK Open.
Dutch star Wessel Nijman will play Spain’s Cristo Reyes – who has made a strong return to the PDC ProTour this year – in arguably Friday’s stand-out tie, while former World Cup finalists O’Connor and Suljovic lock horns.
Northern Ireland’s World Cup winner Daryl Gurney meets former UK Open quarter-finalist Sebastian Bialecki, with 2022 Masters champion Joe Cullen pitted against Polish newcomer Wojciech Brulinski.
Dave Chisnall – a winner of eight European Tour titles – begins his campaign against former World Matchplay semi-finalist Jeffrey de Zwaan, while former UK Open champion Andrew Gilding goes up against Lithuania’s Darius Labanauskas.
Elsewhere, 2025 runner-up Ryan Joyce will mark his return to Goettingen with a clash against Lukas Wenig – a late replacement for last year’s champion Nathan Aspinall.
The top 16 players on the PDC Werner Rankings Ladder then enter the fray in round two on Saturday, as world number two Humphries kicks off his bid for a ninth European Tour title against O’Connor or Suljovic.
Three-time champion Michael van Gerwen will make his first European Tour appearance of 2026 after missing out on last month’s Poland Darts Open due to illness, and Van Gerwen will face either fellow countryman Niels Zonneveld or Ireland’s Keane Barry.
Reigning European Champion Gian van Veen plays Poland’s number one Krzysztof Ratajski or debutant Shane McGuirk, as fifth seed Stephen Bunting faces a showdown against a home favourite in Springer or Gotthardt.
Kevin Doets and Jonas Masalin collide for the right to take on fourth seed Jonny Clayton, with Clayton’s World Cup partner Gerwyn Price poised to tackle Cullen or Brulinski in round two.
Premier League star Josh Rock opens his title challenge against Scottish star Cameron Menzies or Host Nation Qualifier Paul Krohne, while former European Champion Ross Smith kicks off his campaign against Chisnall or De Zwaan.
German number one Martin Schindler will make his return to home soil against Dutchman Richard Veenstra or his compatriot Florian Hempel, with Nijman or Reyes awaiting Belgium’s premier player Mike De Decker.
Following the conclusion of round two, the last 16 will take place on Sunday afternoon – with play beginning from the earlier time of 1100 GMT – before the tournament concludes with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final from 1700 GMT on Sunday evening.
Live coverage of the European Darts Trophy will be streamed on DAZN for viewers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and through the DAZN Darts channel on Pluto TV.
Additionally, coverage will be shown on CANAL+ SPORT 5 and via the CANAL+ streaming service in Poland, on PDCTV (excluding Germany, Austria and Switzerland) and through bookmakers’ worldwide.
NB: From the original list of entries, Gary Anderson, James Wade and Nathan Aspinall have withdrawn from the event, and have been replaced by Mensur Suljovic, Keane Barry and Lukas Wenig from the Reserve List.
