At Lingfield this afternoon I quite like the look of Wadacre Gomez ahead of the 4.20pm where the five-year-old has a better chance than the bare form figures might imply.
He hasn’t won since July last year which will hopefully boost his odds here, ditto the fact that he is yet to win over the mile and a half he faces now, but he was a close up fourth, beaten less than two lengths at Chelmsford last time out off 1lb higher in the handicap.
More importantly, he drops from Class Two to Class four for this race, hence he carries top-weight, and if gets home in this small field where I am hoping there is a lack of early pace, he may simply outclass his rivals.
