Classy Mare Could Take The Prize Back Over The Irish Sea

Irish trainer Stuart Crawford has an excellent record when he sends horses over to challenge for our races, and it will be a big surprise to me if he doesn’t strike again with Lily Du Berlais in the novice hurdle at 3.15pm, with her long absence from the course the only negative I can find.

The winner of her first two bumpers at Perth and then Leopardstown, she is yet to score over hurdles, but has been competing at a far higher level with a fourth in the Grade Two Johnstown Hurdle at Naas in February last year, and a third in the Grade Three Kingsfurze Hurdle at the same track last March.

One other run saw her pulled up in a Grade Two at Fairyhouse last April, but she is clearly helps in high regard and ought to find this company far more to her liking.
