As you will (hopefully) have seen elsewhere my main focus this Sunday is the International racing in Hong Kong which I am lucky enough to be attending in person, but the world does not come to a stop and I am still working away on the UK racing, despite some pretty poor action today!
Two British cards from Southwell and Carlisle are far from inspiring, and stakes need to be kept tiny in my opinion, though one horse fascinates me, with the market the likeliest clue to his chances on the day.
Irandando Has may not have a name that trips off the tongue too easily, but his form suggests he had plenty of ability, with a second on his sole start at Auteuil when a beaten favourite, going under by a neck to Lokman with the first two clear of the third.
Snapped up after that and moved to Paul Nicholls, the bad news is that race was in September 2022 – and he hasn’t been seen in public since.
Moved on to Sam Allwood, his owners deserve a reward for their patience and deep pockets since, and although it is glaringly obvious to suggest he will improve for his first start in over three years, I can only assume they see something in him at home to persevere and he could run into a place at a massive price.
