Go To Town At Ayr

I am wary of having too many (or any) bets at the Ayr meeting with a strong team heading over from Ireland, and I will be watching the morning markets like a hawk, but I will have a small bet on Lucinda Russell’s Myretown in the maiden hurdle at 3.20pm.

Yet another point-to-point winner, he scored at Dromahane in April 2022 and made his debut under rules in a Hexham bumper when he looked outpaced over two miles, but still ran respectably enough to come home fourth. He was then sent over hurdles here at Ayr over two miles but unsurprisingly he was also outgunned close home to finish second last month after pulling too hard throughout, but that was his first start in more than a year and over an inadequate trip, giving him plenty of excuses.

Upped half a mile here and with that run under his belt, I think he will be a very different proposition, and if he improves as I expect he ought to get involved in the finish.
