He Who Pays The Piper….

Small fields are becoming the bane of my working life with so little value to be found and punters scrapping around for the odd race where they can at least consider an each way bet. Wetherby are a good example with a maximum field of eight on the day, and even those races seem likely to be hurt by non-runners here and there.

With nothing appealing there I have switched my attentions to Fontwell where Pipers Cross looks capable of running a big race in the 1.40pm assuming she gives her all. She has hit a first three spot in all six starts since joining the Robbie Llewellyn yard in November last year including a win at Huntingdon in early March, and although he needs a career best to win here, he has gone well before for jockey Cameron Johnstone-Baker who claims 5lb off his back here which may end up being the deciding factor.
