Highly Regarded Hurdler Makes His Long Anticipated Return

Risky all the way with our second bet this Sunday when the Paul Nicholls trained Captain Teague returns to the track after over a year off – but at least he represents each way value at 16/1 as I write.

Way above average over hurdles with wins in the Grade Two Persian War at Chepstow and the Challow (Grade One) as a novice, he was last seen finishing fourth to The Jukebox Man over fences at Newbury where his jumping left a lot to be desired.

He could be running here as a prep race before a return to the larger obstacles, in which case me may have done our dough, but he races in a handicap for the first time off a mark of 139 which looks a few pounds on the generous side, and if he is fully tuned up, he is clearly massively overpriced.
