It is far from impossible that I have got things wrong somewhere, but the 2/1 as I write about Ben Pauling’s The Jukebox Kid looks a steal ahead of the novice handicap chase over three miles pus and due off at 12.40pm, even with the issue of having to carry top-weight and give 3lb or more to all of his rivals.
He impressed on his debut over fences at Carlisle over two miles five when winning by four lengths, jumping well throughout, but has always been seen as a stayer in the making and if he is to return at the Festival in March as hoped then he needs to prove good enough to put this lot to bed if that target is anything more than a pipe dream.
