Sherwood Stayer Seems Sensible

Trainer Oliver Sherwood is more than capable regardless of the type of horse he is given, but I always feels he is at his happiest given a staying sort to work with, and in Guerlain De Vaux he has a horse who may yet have a very bright future.

Only two visits to the track so far have seen a fifth in a Chepstow bumper over a woefully inadequate two miles, and a length and a half success at Market Rasen over hurdles when stepped up to two and a half miles.

As he won going away that day, I am hoping the step up to three miles plus will suit him down to the ground and although I suspect we won’t see the best of him until he is sent chasing in the future, he may well be able to mop up a few races over hurdles first.
