Expecting a Richard Hannon across the card double may look a big ask at first glance, but I can’t help but go for Royal Poetry who went straight into my notebook after her debut third.
The daughter of Lope De Vega is bred for a mile and started off over that trip at Southwell, leading from two out to a furlong from home before weakening to be beaten three and a half lengths at the line.
She returns this evening over six furlongs which catches my eye, and if she has the early speed to lay up with these I can see her making the most of the 5lb or more she gets from all her rivals with the exception of Gris De Chine.
