William Hill make Doctor Who the red hot favourite to be the most-watched TV programme in the UK on Christmas Day.
The BBC sci-fi show is now the 4/6 favourite ahead of soap opera EastEnders at 2/1 and ITV drama Downton Abbey at 4/1.
“Doctor Who has very little against it and as a result starts the favourite, but as a closet Downton fan I can see the Doctor getting exterminated this Christmas,” said Hill’s spokesman Rupert Adams.
Hill’s also bet on the number of viewers the Queen’s Speech will receive. Their cut-off mark is nine million. Under is 4/6 and over 11/10.
