Leader Writer shaped quite nicely last time out and looks worth an each-way wager at 10/1 in the 4.15 at Newcastle today.
After being held-up in mid division, Henry Spiller’s charge stayed on to finish a 3 3/4 lengths sixth of 13 to What’s The Story over course and distance off a mark of 94.
It was a step back in the right direction after a disappointing run at Newbury having previously posted two decent efforts when fourth off 97 and eighth of to to Addeybb in the Lincoln at Doncaster off teh same rating.
Leader Writer has since been dropped 2lb to 92, the same rating as when winning Ascot last September by 2 1/4 lengths.
It makes him a big player at the weights on the pick of his form if building on his latest effort.
So at the odds on offer, he looks decent value in a wide-open contest.
