Toughness Danon has dropped to an attractive mark and is strongly fancied at 10/1 to take advantage and land the the 5.30 at Yarmouth today.
Brendan Powell’s charge was a one time smart Group 3 winner in Germany back in 2009, and although not see at his best over hurdles has looked to be gradually working his way back to form since being switched to the level.
He put up his best effort for a long time last time out at Leicester when a 3 1/2 length third of 10 to Headline News – keeping on well after twice being denied a clear run at vital stages.
That run came off a mark of 70 over 1m 4f, and he gets into this off the same rating but with the added addition of David Kenny taking another 5lb off his back.
He is now a massive 18lb lower than when contesting a competitive class 2 event at Epsom won by Fiery Lad back in June where he showed up well and had every chance two from home before weakening to finish 8th of 13 (beaten 8 1/2 lengths).
That makes him look well treated off his current mark in this class 4 contest, and the step up to 1m 6f also looks sure to suit judged on his latest effort.
At the odds on offer he looks overpriced and cracking each-way value.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts each-way Toughness Danon (10/1 Boylesports, BetVictor, Ladbrokes, Paddy Power – BOG)
