10/1 Shooter to gun down rivals

Pea Shooter looks to be on a tempting mark for his handicap debut in the 2.45 at Newmarket and makes plenty each-way appeal at 10/1.

Kevin Ryan’s speedy son of Piccolo showed much improved form on his final start as a juvenile when making all to slam Lisiere by 6 lengths at York.

He blasted out of the gates that day and despite hanging right inside the final furlong stayed on strongly in the manner of a horse that could have plenty more to offer as a three-year-old.

The fourth home Personal Touch – who was beaten more than  9 lengths – has gone on to run two really solid races this season including last time out when a close up fourth to today’s favourite Mince.

He was beaten just under three lengths by Roger Charlton’s charge in receipt of 2lb, and the selection receives 4lb from the filly.

That makes him look well treated off an opening mark of 87, and he should have nothing to fear from Mince on a line through Personal Touch if resuming in the same form as he was at York.

To me there is no way that he should be double the odds of that rival, and with his stable in flying form he looks cracking value.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Pea Shooter (10/1 Boylesports, Hills – BOG)
