Kummiya looks decent value at 11/1 in the 2.35 at Ascot today now dropped in trip and reunited withb Kieran Shoemark.
Roger Charlton’s gelding showed improved form in the summer to land back-to-back 1m handicaps at Nottingham and Ffos Las, coming from off the pace to score readily on both occasions.
He scored with tons in hand in the latter off a mark of 77 when beating Force easing down by two lengths having been clear entering the final furlong and the runner-up went on to score next time up.
Kummiya has since finsihed sixth at Sandown and fourth at Newmarket in contests over 1m 2f when ridden by James Doyle and William Twiston-Davies, but shaped better than the bare result suggests having faded lare on and seemingly not seen out the extra two furlongs.
The drop back to 1m, over which he has a 50% strike rate (3 from 6) is a big plus and he is now reunited with Shormark who has partnered him to his last two successes and has a 100% record on him.
He takes off a handy 3lb with his claim and Kummiya should be more than capable of winning races of her current mark of 85.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Kummiya (11/1 bet365, BetVictor – BOG)
