Nezar has become dangerouslly well-treated and makes plenty of appeal at 11/1 in the 8.50 at Epsom this evening.

The gelding won twice as a juvenile when trained by William Haggas, with the last of those successes coming in a 7f nursery at Chester off a mark of 81 back in August 2013.

He went to to finish a cracking third in the Group 3 Tattersalls Stakes at Newmarket off an official rating of 96, but has since managed to make the frame just once in 12starts.

That came in a 7f contest at Doncaster last September when the four-year-old was baten just a length into third behind Lincoln in a class 2 contest off a mark of 85.

Nezar, who is now in the care of John Quinn, is now able to race off just 80 in this lower grade class 4 affair, and comes into the race having shaped far better than his form figures suggest in recent starts.

If able to build on those efforts there is little doubt that he is weighted to run a huge race.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Nezar (11/1  Stan James – BOG)
