11/2 Jack a Catterick cracker

© 2012 Daily Sport Limited

Our Boy Jack shaped as if coming back to his best last time out and rates a solid bet at 11/2 in the 4.00 at Catterick today.

Richard Fahey’s gelding stuck to the task well when beaten 2 1/4 lengths by an in-form Boots And Spurs at Warwick last month, and the third home Postscript has subsequently come out and won to give the form a solid look.

It was an effor which suggested Our Boy Jack would soon be back in the winners’ enclosure, and although he is now running off a 1lb higher mark of 77 he is still 1lb below his last winning mark.

That success came in a mile contest at Chester last July where he battled on well to beat Gaul Wood by a head after being eased down when well in contriol, and he went on to be placed on several occasions – including off a mark as high as 85.

Those runs also came in better class contests than this, and if he can build on his latest effort he looks sure to take all the beating in the hands of Tony Hamilton off what looks a handy mark.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Our Boy Jack (11/2 generally available – use BOG firms)
