Cloud Creeper has some strong form to his name and rates a solid bet at 11/4 to cash-in on what looks a handy handicap mark in the 3.20 at Doncaster today.
Philip Hobbs’ gelding posted a four solid efforts to finish runner-up over hurdles prior to opening his account in good style over the obstacles when making the most of a good opportunity to score by 10 lengths at Southwell.
Among his runner-up efforts was a head defeat by the now 136-rated Junction Fourteen at Fontwell where the pair pulled 15 lengths clear of the third home.
That is strong form and makes Cloud Creeper’s current mark of 120 look very exploitable in this class 4 contest which lacks any real strength in depth.
Although the selection has failed to cut any ice in three handicaps since his win at Southwell, they have all been class 3 affairs and he shaped as if badly needing the run on seasonal reapperance at Chepstow last month when fifth of 9 to Boondooma.
Cloud Creeper looks sure to strip much fitter for that outing, and with his stable in flying form and Richard Johnson in the saddle this looks a nice opportunity for him to get back to winning ways now dropped in class.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 4pts win Cloud Creeper (11/4 generally available – use BOG firms)
