12/1 Secrete Stream weighted to go well at Haydock

Secrete Stream makes plenty of appeal at 12/1 in the 2.25 at Haydock today now switched back to hurdles off his last winning mark.

Ruth Jefferson’s nine-year-old has won three of his 10 starts over hurdles and also made the frame on two occasions.

In the last of those successes at Uttoxeter back in November 2016, he took up the running two from home and scooted clear to land a competitive 15-runner class 3 contest by 8lengths from Granville Island by eight lengths off a mark of 129.

Having been put uo 7lb for that to 136, Secrete Stream disappointed in his follow-up bid when sent off favourite and finishing a well-beaten four at Ayr.

He then had his attentions switched to chasing and ran well at Carlisle when a staying on 5 1/4 lengths fifth of 13 to the now very smart 152-rated Mt Whitaker off 134.

Secrete Stream now goes back over the smaller obstacles off a reduced rating of 129 and that makes him a major player from a handicap perspective in this class 3 contest on the pick of his form.

He has gone well fresh in the past, has underfoot condtions to suit and a 29 per cent strike rate in the grade.

With Aiden Blackmore in the saddle taking off with his claim, Secrete Stream looks weighted to run a big race.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Secrete Stream (12/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
