12/1 Outlaw Torn too well-treated to ignore

The well-treated Outlaw Torn looks worth siding with at 12/1 to bounce back to form in the 3.50 at Redcar today now back on his favrured quicker surface.

Richard Guest trained gelding is a dual winner over this afternoon’s 1m trip, and now 8lb lower than when registering his last success at Musselburgh 12 months ago on good-to-firm going.

That gives the six-year-old outstanding claims from a handicapping perspective, and Outlaw Torn’s current rating of 54 is the lowest he has raced off in three years.

Although disappointing seven days ago at Newcastle that run came on unsuitable rain softened ground, and prior to that Outlaw Torn had shaped promisingly at Nottingham when fading late on to finish sixth of 10 to Irondale Express having travelled well for much of the contest.

Outlaw Torn does have to race from 2lb out of the weights this afternoon, but connections have offsett that by putting up 5lb claimer Rob Hornby in the saddle who has had just two rides for the stable in the past 12 months –  winning once and being placed on another.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pots each-way Outlaw Torn (12/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
