Sebastian Beach has been given a big chance by the handicapper and looks worth siding with at 12/1 in the 2.30 at Doncaster today.

Jonjo O’Neill’s gelding shaped really well in his first two starts over hurdles, finishing a 9 length second of 16 to the now 133-rated Souriyan at Exeter and a 7 length third of 9 to the now 140-rated Beltor at Ludlow.

He then made all to win easing down by 4 1/4 lengths at Chepstow ofd an official raing of 122, and was allotted an opening handicap mark of 129 on the back of that success.

Although he failed to trounle the judge in his next three starts over the obstacles, the five-year-old was thought good enough to run in the Fred Winter at the Cheltenham Festival and caught the eye on seasonal reapperance when a not knocked about fourth to Dan Emmett at Chepstow.

Altough he failed to build on that last time out at Ascot, the handicapper has since dropped him another 2lb, and he is now able to race in this off 116.

That is a career-low makes Sebastian Beach look dangerously well-treated on the pick of his form, and he now drops down into class 4 company having competed in two class 3 contests this season.

Another plus is that he now gets the servives of Richard Johnson in the saddle, and the better ground will also be in his favour.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Sebastian Beach (12/1 bet365, BetVictor, Ladbrokes, Sky Bet – BOG)
