Earth Amber looks well-treated on handicap debut in the 12.40 at Cheltenham today and is strongly fancied at 13/2 to take advantage and land the spoils.

Nicky Henderson’s mare is a a useful 96-rated performer on the level, and ran a cracker to finish runner-up to Tac De Boistron in the Group 3 Sagaro Stakes at Sandown back in April.

She has also shaped well to finish runner-up in two starts over hurdles, and the form of the first of those when a 6 length runner-up to Wadswick Court at Southwell looks strong.

The winner is a uesful sort who is now rated 136 and tha pair pulled 38 lengths clear of the Third home Tashkaldou who was allotted an opening handicap mark of 100.

That makes Earth Amber look potentially thrown-in off an opening mark of just 113, especially as she remains unexposed and open to plenty more improvement in this sphere.

She could make a mockery of her mark based on the level of ability she has shown on the flat, and with David Bass in the saddle looks the one they all have to beat.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Earth Amber (13/2 Paddy Power – BOG)
