Imperial Legend was a big eye-catcher last time out and makes plenty of appeal at 13/2 in the 3.20 at Musselburgh today.
Dandy Nicholl’s gelding scored twice last season, with his last success coming off a mark of 80 at Haydock.
The five-year-old then ran a stormer to finish a neck second of 24 to Hazlerigg in the Ayr Silver Cup off 84 at this venue, and backed that up with a solid sixth of 19 to Take Cover in a class 2 contest at York off 87.
He now gets into this class 4 contest off 82, having shaped well in two of his last 3 starts in class 3 company.
In the first of those he finsihed foruth of 10 to Line Of Reason at York, and Imperial Legend then got no luck in running last time out over course and distnace when finishing a 2 1/4 length fifth of 7 to Algar Lad.
The son of Mujadil was slowly away, and was unable to recover when getting hampered after making good headway to mount a challenge inside the final furlong.
It was an effort which suggested his time was near, and off 1lb lower he is now looking well-treated on the pick of his form and is undoubtedly weighted to go in again.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Imperial Legend (13/2 bet365 – BOG)
