14/1 Charcor the Irish Cambridgeshire choice

Charcor is a progressive and unexposed sort who looks worth an each-way punt at 14/1 in the Irish Cambridgesgore at the Curragh today (4.00).

The Jessica Harrington trained four-year-old shaped with promise when a tenderly handled third on debut beore opening his account when bwhen keeping on strongly to beat Mazzuri, who has won since, at Gowran Park.

Charcor then ran a cracker in a rated race last time out at Killarney when second of eight to Monkeylou where events conspored againt him.

After being slowly away, he found himself with stacks to do before staying on detreminedly to be beaten just 1/2 a length. Given how the race panned out it was a run which needs upgrading,

Charcor is now able to race in handicap company for the first time off an unchhanged rating of 93, so that makes him a big player from a handicapping perspective for a yard that has a near 20 oer cent strike rate at the track in the past 12 months.

With further improvement to come after just three starts he looks potentially ahead of his mark and looks to have the perfect profile for this.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Charcor (14/1 Betfair, Paddy Power – BOG/ 1/5 odds 1,2,3,4,5)
