Alpine Storm looks massively overpriced at 14/1 in the 3.40 at Musselburgh today.
Mark Johnston’s filly opend her account in a three runner contest at Carlisle back in July when making all to slam Incurs Four Faults off a mark of 69.
She has been kept very busy since then and run really well to finish runner-up at Ayr and over course and distance back in August off 74.
The three-year-old also ran very well at Ascot three starts back whne fifth of 13 to Bold Lass where she led until being headed approaching the final furlong to be beaten 3 1/2 lengths.
Alpine Storm finished 1 3/4 lengths behind the fourth home Auction, who is favourite for this, and now meets that rival on 7lb better terms.
She also meets the third home that day – Who’s That Chick – on 10lb better terms.
That suggests that Apline Storm should not be so big in the betting compared to thsoe two rivals, and although disappointed when well beateh six days ago she would not be the first Johnston horse to bounce back at a big price after a poor run having dropped to what looks a very workable mark of 72.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Apline Storm (14/1 Boylesports – BOG)
