14/1 Deauville Prince weighted to go well at Wolves

Deauville Prince has fallen to a handy mark and looks overpriced at 14/1 in the 7.30 at Wolverhampton this evening.

Tom Dascombe’s charge had some useful form as a juvenile, and ran well on the Tapeta surface last season when fourth of 8 to Soft Falling Rain in the Group 3 UAE 2000 Guineas at Meydan when beaten 3 lengths.

The gelding went on to finish a cracking runner-up to Now Spun in a Listed contest on the rurf at the same venue when officially rated 105, and now gets into this contest off 92.

It makes Deauville Prince look potentially well-treated, and he showed that he retained plenty of ability on his penultimate start when going down by a nose to Pearl Nation in a 12-runner contest at Haydock.

Although not at his best last time out at Ayr, it would be no surprise to see Deauville Prince bounce back at a track where his trainer does well.

Based on his run behind Soft Falling Rain he is a fascinating contender now switched back to the Tapeta, and looks well worth an each-way wager at the odds on offer.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Deauville Prince (14/1 bet365, BetVictor, Boylesports, Coral, Ladbrokes, Sky Bet – BOG)
