Excel’s Beauty has been given a big chance by the handicapper and makes plenty of appeal at 14/1 in the 3.30 at Nottingham today now fitted with the cheekpieces for the first time.
Jason Tate’s filly was a smart juvenile last season, winning twice – including over course and distance.
She went on to finish a fine length second to the now 103-rated Windfire in a listed contset at Newbury and also ran a cracker when fourth to the classy Hot Streak (now rated 115) in a similar contest at York when officially rated 100.
The daughter of Exceed And Excel started this season on a rating of 95 on the back of those efforts, and showed plenty of dash on reapperance in a lsited contest at Bath before weakening late on to finish a 6 3/4 length 10th of 15 to Ladies Are Forever.
Excel’s Beauty then ran poorly on handicap debut at Chester last time out off 93 , but that track may not have suited and she is definitely better than what she showed on the Roodee.
The handicapper has been quick to drop her 4lb to a mark of 89, and that makes her look potentially very well-treated on the pick of her two-year-old form.
It’s also interesting that connections are now fitting her with the cheekpieces for the first time, and with course and distance winning form to her name and Jamie Spencer in the saddle she looks overpriced at the odds on offer and well worth an each-way inetrest.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Excel’s Beauty (14/1 Ladbrokes – BOG)
