Seaside Shuffle is on a handy mark at present and makes plenty of each-way appeal at 14/1 in the 4.50 at Chepstow today given his trainers’ impressive strike rate at the track.

The gelding won twice over hurdels in Ireland in 2011 when trained by Charles Byrnes, landing a handicap hurdle at Wexford off a mark of 82 and a 12-runner hanidcap at Fairyhouse off a mark of 94 where he kept on strongly to beat Oxilado by 2 1/4 lengths.

His form then tailed off and after showing nothing over fences the following year he joined the Sophie Leech yard following a lengthy 390 days on the sidelines.

The eight-year-old has had just three runs for his new handler, and has been well-beaten in each.

However he did run slightly better than his final finishing position suggests when sixth of 11 to Sugar Hiccup at Newton Abbot last time out and having been rated 102 when joining Leech is now running off just 90.

That means that he si now 4lb lower than when last successful and gives him every chance at the weights if connections can get him back on track.

The yard have done well with similar types who have seemingly lost their way once they have got back down to a workable mark, and the selection has been given a break since his last run to freshen him up.

Another plus is that his trainer boasts and impressive 30% strike rate with her runners at the track in the past 12 months, saddling 3 winners and having two placed from just 10 runners.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Seaside Shuffle (14/1 BetVictor – BOG)
