15/2 Askaud looks glorious at Goodwood

Askaud shaped as if coming back to her best last time out and makes plenty of appeal at 15/2 in the 4.50 at Goodwood.

Scott Dixon’s filly made the progressive Anderiego pull out all the stops at York on Saturday when attempting to make all and going down by just a length off today’s mark.

It was a cracking effort and showed that she was ready to cash-in on her reduced mark.

Having started the season on a mark of 97 when finishing a highly creditable sixth of 22 to Brae Hill in the Lincoln at Doncaster, she is now down to 83 and just 2lb higher than when registering her last success.

That victory came at this meeting last year, where she stayed on well to beat Totheendoftheearth by a length in the hands of Tom Queally.

Prior to that she had shown his liking for the track when chasing home Beatrice Aurora who has developed into a Group performer and been rated 111 at her best.

That is solid form, and to me it looks as if Askaud has been primed to come right for this meeting.

With Tom Queally back in the saddle and the trip and ground fine everything looks in place for a huge run and she looks the one they all have to beat.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts each-way Askaud (15/2 Boylesports, BetVictor – BOG, 1/4 odds 1,2,3,4)
