Jacob’s Pillow is potentially very well-treared on the poick of his form in the 7.50 at Hamilton this evening and looks worth an interest at 16/1.
The gelding hasn’t fired in three starts for Jedd O’Keefe, but wasn’t beaten too far last time out at Redcar over 5f after showing up well until weakening a furlong from home and will appreciate the step back up to 6f.
The four-year-old is also now able to race off a career-low mark of 75, having once been rated 85, and has one piece of form to his name when trained by William Haggas that is extremely strong and reads well in the context of this class 4 contest.
That run came over 6f in a class 3 contest at Bath last July where Jacob’s Pillow finished a 1 1/2 length runner-up to Speed Hawk off 84.
The winner is a very useful sort now rated 106, the third home Umneyati is rated 92 and the fourth home Bahamian Heights is rated 84.
That form gives Jacob’s Pillow a huge chance at the weights in this class 4 contest if boucning back to anything like his best, and although backing him comes with risks attached based on his current form it looks a risk worth taking at the odds on offer.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Jacob’s Pillow (16/1 bet365 – BOG)
