16/1 Soaring Spirits worth siding with at Chelmsford

Soaring Spirits has been given a massive chance by the handicapper and looks worth an each-way wager at 16/1 in the 7.40 at Chelmsford today now stepped up in trip.

Dean Ivory’s gelding was in good form last year when winning twice over 6f, with his last success coming off a mark of 75.

He went on to finish a solid fourth to Multitask over 7f at Lingfield  off 78, but has failed to trouble the judge in his last nine starts.

However that has resulted in a huge drop in the weights and he is now able to race off a career-low of just 60.

That is a massive 1lb lower than when last successful, and gives Soaring Spirits major claims at the weights on the pick of his form.

Connections are also refitting him with the cheekpieces, and he now steps up significantly in trip to 1m having largely been campaigned over shorter since joining Ivory.

That is an interesting move as he won over the trip off 70 when trained by Roger Varian and also ran well to finish runner-up off 74 over an extended mile at Leicester, plus he finished a 1/2 length runner-up to the 90-rated Mighty Yar over 1m on the polytrack surface at Lingfield.

Judged on those efforts he is simply too well-treated to ignore.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Soraing Spirits (16/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
