20/1 Capri an each-way play in Arc

Capri makes plenty of each-way appeal at 20/1 in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe at Chantilly today (3.05).

Aidan O’Brien’s colt showed a good attitude to land the Irish Derby at the Curragh when taking up the running two from home and finding plenty for pressure to fend off the late challenge of Cracksman by a neck.

The runner-up has since come out and won two Group 2s in impressive fashion and was towards the head of the ante post betting for this before connections made the bizarre decision to bypass the race.

Capri has since gone on to land the the St Leger over 1m 6f at at Doncaster where in a race run at a searching gallop he took up the running and the two marker and found plenty to beat Crystal Ocean by 1/2 length.

The winning time of 3:04.04 was one of the fastest in the racess history and he is clearly at the top of his game at present.

Capri’s proven stamina could also come into play given underfoot conditions and he won’t shirk a fight iof it turns into a slog.

With Enable increibly short in the betting I think he is overpriced at the odds on offer for a dual classic winner.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Capri (20/1 bet365 – BOG, 1/4 odds 1,2,3,4)
