20/1 Hassle an each-way play at Ascot

Hassle looks on a fair mark now returnned to the level and worth and each-way wager at 20/1 the Brown Jack Handicap at Ascot today (2.55).

The gelding has failed to score on three runs over hurdles for Nicky Henderson, but is now back with former handler Clive Cox and was in good form last year for him when winning three-times.

The last of those successes came at this venue over 1m 6f off a mark of 89, and Hassle also finished runner-up in this 12 months ago off 92.

Hassle also ran very well over course and distance when third of 10 to Retirement Plan off 95, and is now able to race off 1lb lower (94).

That gives him a decent shout at the weights, and another plus is that he has won after a lay-off so a break of 103 days should not be an issue.

In a race being viewed by many as a match between Seamour and Rite To Reign, he looks overpriced in my eyes and well worth an each-way wager at the odds on offer.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Hassle (20/1 Boylesports – BOG)
