Manchester City are in flying form and hot on the heels of current league leaders Liverpool but a win in today’s early kick off will see them sit top of the league at least until Liverpool’s meeting with Spurs Sunday evening.
Fulham come into this game 13 points off safety with 21 points available but have got the toughest task of the season to face, the Cottagers have managed to get 3 points from their last 11 games but they do have a pleasing stat in their favour.
Fulham have scored in every single one of their last 11 home meetings with City dating back to December 2002 which could be in vain seeing as top goal-scorer Alexander Mitrovic has only managed 3 goals in his last 18 appearances.
Despite that singular positive, Fulham have conceded 2 or more goals in each of their torrid last 11 games and Sergio Aguero will be on hand to capitalize. The Argentine has 18 Premier League goals this season and is the league’s top goal scorer but disappointingly has only scored 3 of those goals away from home. Similarly, Raheem Sterling has scored only 3 of his 15 league goals away from home but against the current Fulham defence there’s no way these stats should put you off.
Neither team have any serious injury concerns but City’s defence is flooded with knocks and Kevin De Bruyne is still nursing issues from his injury plagued campaign. Fernandinho returned to training this week after his reoccurring muscle troubles.
City’s form will undoubtedly prove too much for Fulham and it’s only going to be a matter of how many they’ll win by. The bookies are pricing City up as 1/10 favourites and they’ve also only faced 2 shots in their last 180 minutes of Premier League football so from a betting perspective it’s very slim pickings.
Sterling and Aguero to score anytime is generally available @15/8.
